03.18.2001 - Day Overview
Softball Wash-out, Dr. Demento
First time in eight years! It rained out the softball
game. Feeling the disappointment, we meandered over to Antones for the
barbeque.
As the rain-out location it served its purpose, but the
disappointment over the softball tournament rain-out was everywhere.
Dr. Demento entertained us at the barbeque from the lofty
perch of the Antones sound booth. You never really got a good look at him, but he
talked all the time and was as entertaining as could be under the circumstances. We
all needed a little comedy relief.
I finally realized that I was wiped out, and we headed back
to the hotel for our last night in Austin.
Richard and I packed up and tried to not show our
reluctance at the coming departure on Monday. We had a good time and we wanted to
leave each other with the good memories.
